côte&ciel Launches Spring/Summer 26 Through the interplay of observer and observed
côte&ciel unveils its Spring/Summer 26 collection, a tribute to the visionaries of mid-century industrial design. Drawing inspiration from designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Joe Colombo, and Gaetano Pesce, the collection explores how bold approaches to colour, form, and structure continue to resonate today, creating a design language that is both expressive and functional. These innovators, who challenged conventions in their time, remain a touchstone for côte&ciel, a brand that has long balanced sculptural expression with practical urban utility.
The concept is further brought to life through the campaign, An Act of Observation, shot in Tokyo. The quiet moments before the start of a day are captured in minimal, slightly surreal spaces where furniture, people, and bags coexist in natural harmony. By alternating between the perspective of an observer and that of those being observed, the campaign captures subtle human gestures and interactions within carefully composed environments. The resulting imagery reflects côte&ciel’s philosophy of thoughtful design, where space, objects, and people form a cohesive, organic whole.
Spring/Summer 26 introduces new materials alongside reimagined classic silhouettes. The PO returns in a water-resistant Terracotta, while the Gathered Black collection in smooth nylon features softly drawn folds to create a distinctive, elaborate textured appearance. The new Satellite Black nylon offers a technical, matte-textured surface, whilst the Woven Concrete material fuses sculptural form with everyday durability.
Standout pieces include the DRAVA backpack in Gathered Black, a study in layered storage and sculptural utility, and refined OTRA variations of the iconic HYCO and ORNE. The TAMU backpack, with its origami-inspired architectural base drawn from the AMU, exemplifies versatility: its straps can be zipped away, transforming it into a sleek, leather-handled tote without sacrificing functionality or elegance.

Spring/Summer 26 will be available from 30th January at côte&ciel stores, coteetciel.com, and supporting retailers.
