côte&ciel’s Paris boutique in Le Marais, sits in the neighbourhood where the brand was founded, and where its design process continues to take shape.
More than a store, it acts as a place where the physicality of the brand can be experienced directly. côte&ciel has always been grounded in tactility, in how materials feel, how forms are constructed, and how objects move with the body. The space reflects this, offering a slower, more considered way to encounter côte&ciel’s bags, backpacks and accessories.
Located on Rue du Pont aux Choux in the 3rd arrondissement, the Paris store is part of the Haut Marais, a district that moves between the everyday and the experimental. It’s a setting that mirrors côte&ciel’s own position, somewhere between function and expression, structure and movement.

The interior was developed in collaboration with BALZER BALZER, a Berlin-based studio, continuing a dialogue first explored in the brand’s Tokyo location in Roppongi Hills. Together, the intention was not to create a traditional retail space, but to translate côte&ciel’s design language into an environment.
Questions were raised around how an object becomes space, and how a design process can be expressed architecturally. The result is a minimal, structured interior where each element is considered, and nothing feels added without purpose.
Inside, the store presents a rotating selection of current collections, alongside carry-over pieces and exclusive items that remain in circulation beyond seasonal cycles.

The fixtures, developed specifically for côte&ciel by BALZER BALZER, are modular and adaptable, designed to exist beyond a single location, and to establish a consistent visual language across spaces from Paris to Tokyo.
Referencing the idea of ‘Coast and Sky’, the palette moves between a sand-toned base and darker anthracite structures. The space is intentionally restrained, allowing the products to sit clearly within it.
In contrast, deep blue surfaces appear throughout, soft, organic forms that introduce a quiet inversion of the brand’s design logic. Where côte&ciel typically builds volume from surface, here volume is flattened back into surface.
Bespoke mirrors are reminiscent of côte&ciel products.
