Reflektierendes Taupe
côte&ciel introduces Reflective Taupe, a capsule exploring the relationship between light, movement and the marks created through use.
At its centre is a specially treated nylon with a tactile, robust crinkle. Rather than remaining fixed, the surface continues to change as it is worn, with new creases and folds emerging through movement.

In direct light, the dark surface becomes reflective, catching points of light before fading back as conditions change. Inspired by the night sky, this shifting quality brings a sense of movement to the material, changing how it is seen depending on its surroundings.
The material is applied across three silhouettes: NILE S, ORNE and ISARAU XS, each offering a different expression of the textured nylon.

To introduce the capsule, côte&ciel joined Quiet Hiking Club for a night hike through Paris. Moving through the city after dark, the group stopped to observe and sketch textures found in nature, using charcoal to translate surfaces, shadows and irregular forms onto paper.
Photographed by Paris-based photographer Kaj Lehner, the accompanying editorial captures the collection between darkness and direct light, with its reflective surfaces appearing against the landscape.
